Congo Today

Many children in the Congo are being accused of witchcraft and the number is growing.  There is little sense of family and community so sometimes the children's family will try to burn them or throw them out if they are accused of witchcraft.
Why is there still thought of witchcraft today?     How would a stronger sense of community and family change the lives of the children who are accused?

Even though the UN is in the Congo and trying to keep peace, there is still a lot of rape and murder going on.  Around 200 women were raped and many people were killed in a village that had UN peace keepers just down the road.
Why is the UN failing to keep peace and stop the rapes and murders?  What could the UN and other countries do to help the problems in the Congo?
